Sebastian Vettel will start today’s Singapore Grand Prix in pole position, after a surprising qualifying round yesterday. World champion Lewis Hamilton, who has a 53-point lead in this year’s Drivers’ Championship, qualified fifth. His teammate Nico Rosberg will start sixth on the grid, meaning Mercedes failed to qualify at the front for the first time in 15 months. It's Ferrari’s first pole since the German GP in 2012, and their good day was capped off with Kimi Raikkonen qualifying in third place. Dividing the two Ferrari men will be Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo. The race begins at 4pm UAE time.
