Controversy dominates the Oscars

The world of entertainment prepares for the 2020 Oscars but critics say it has not been a good year for diversity in the top categories.

Diversity across the board is once again the hot topic that's dominating the prestigious ceremony.

Only one non-white actor's received an acknowledgement, while all of the director nominations are men.

In a notable first, Eimear Noone is the first female conductor to perform at the Awards.

"Parasite," directed by South Korean Bong Joon Ho, is a front runner in the best international film category.

It's the country's first Oscar nominee in any category, and has already grossed more than $160 million globally.
