Dubai Police seized 132 vehicles and issued over 4,600 fines to motorists for violating traffic rules during the UAE National Day celebrations.
Black points were also issued to the violators, who were pulled up for reckless driving, causing disturbance, modifying their vehicles' colour, covering vehicles with stickers without a permit, and littering from cars.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, said that the traffic patrols fined 4,697 motorists and impounded 72 vehicles in Bur Dubai and 60 others in Deira.
He added that the department had intensified patrols across various internal and external areas of the emirate to prevent traffic jams and maintain road safety during the recent holidays.
