Abu Dhabi Mobility has introduced special licence plates for autonomous vehicles, with 'Auto Drive' label added for commercial ones, and 'Test' plate for those under trial.
Both categories feature a unified blue design that allows autonomous vehicles to be easily identified on the roads, added Abu Dhabi Mobility.
The move aims to enhance field monitoring and improve road safety.
The designated plates are also linked to the licensing and operational requirements approved for autonomous vehicles, ensuring that companies comply with the standards adopted in the emirate.
Abu Dhabi also plans to expand commercial and testing of autonomous vehicles across the Emirate.
