Abu Dhabi Police have issued a fresh warning about leaving children unattended in swimming pools.
The capital's police force stressed the importance of having an adult or guardian present at all times while children are in a pool.
They noted that negligence is one of the main reasons behind drowning accidents involving children.

Officials explained that such incidents are among the main causes of psychological trauma for parents and families.
Residents are also being urged to follow all relevant safety instructions, which include installing stairs and metal handles in swimming pools.
