Authorities in Abu Dhabi have banned delivery riders from accessing roads with speed limits of 120kph or higher, and on a stretch of Sheikh Zayed Street from May 15.
In a post on social media platform X, the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) said delivery riders will not be able to access the stretch from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel on Sheikh Zayed Street.
The move aims to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow on vital routes.

Last November, authorities in Dubai introduced a rule to ban delivery riders from accessing the fast lanes on key highways to improve road safety and "reduce fatalities and injuries".
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police said riders will not be allowed to use the "two leftmost lanes on roads with five lanes or more". On roads with three or four lanes, riders cannot use the leftmost lane.
