His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, has issued a law that reduces working hours for employees in the government sector, along with additional leave packages and benefits.
Starting September 1, working hours for People of Determination will be reduced by 2 hours daily. Pregnant employees, who suffer from fatigue or exhaustion, can also avail of the 2-hour reduced timing if they provide medical reports. Meanwhile, employees who are taking care of five or more children under the age of 18, will have their daily working hours reduced by an hour.
Employees who are newly married, family caretakers, People of Determination and entrepreneurs will also get additional annual leave.
The new law will allow for up to a three-grade promotion for outstanding talents, as well as a good service bonus for UAE nationals.
The mandate aims to enhance work-life balance of those in Ajman's government sector.
