New lanes extending 6.8 kilometres have been added to roads in Dubai’s Al Mizhar area Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed with Streets A11 and A26 widened from two lanes to four in both directions.
The expansion is also expected to halve congestion times during peak times according to the RTA, and has doubled the road capacity from 1,200 vehicles to 2,400 vehicles an hour.
The project has also seen 551 parking places added along with a 5.7km cycling track.

Improvements across the emirate are ongoing for the RTA, with 45 locations across the Dubai being worked on to ease the flow of traffic and enhance the overall road network in the city.
