Dubai Police have summoned a driver for running a red light and trying to evade the authorities by removing the number plate of his Nissan Patrol.
Releasing footage of the repeated violations, the Dubai Police said it used advanced monitoring systems to identify the car and immediately deployed patrols to catch the driver.
The driver has been referred to higher authorities for legal action, and his car impounded for a release fee of AED50,000.
According to the officials, the driver had removed the number plate to avoid being caught.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, said that tampering with number plates is a serious offence, while running a red light remains among the most dangerous violations.
Such acts, he warned, may go beyond traffic violations and could lead to judicial accountability in case of fatalities.
Breaking the rules isn’t just a violation—it puts lives at risk.
