Abu Dhabi authorities are responding to a fire that broke out at a facility in the Ruwais Industrial Complex, caused by a drone attack.
The Ruwais Industrial Complex, located in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region, houses the world's fourth-largest single-site oil refinery and is operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
No injuries have been reported at this time.
The refinery has since been shut as a precaution. It can refine up to 922,000 barrels of oil a day and serves as the central hub for the emirate's downstream operations, including significant chemical, fertilizer and industrial gas plants.
Authorities have reminded the public to obtain information from official sources only and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information.
