Dubai is accelerating its move towards autonomous mobility, with its Robotaxi programme now surpassing four million kilometres travelled and recording 7,613 passenger trips since launch.
The service has a fleet of 144 vehicles, with 48 currently in active operation and completing around 50 trips each day.
Customer satisfaction has reached an impressive 97 per cent, highlighting growing public confidence in driverless mobility.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Corporate Technology Support Services Sector and Chair of the Autonomous Transport and Aerial Taxi Committee, says the milestone supports Dubai’s strategic target of making 25 per cent of all transportation trips autonomous by 2030.
The Robotaxi programme has been developed through a phased approach focused on safety, reliability and operational readiness.
Testing in designated areas has helped validate the technology in real-world conditions and prepare for the transition from safety-driver operations to fully driverless services.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is also strengthening partnerships with global autonomous mobility companies, including Baidu’s Apollo Go, WeRide and Pony.ai.
These collaborations are supporting the expansion of driverless taxi services and their integration into Dubai’s wider digital transport network.
In a further development, Uber has announced that fully driverless Baidu Apollo Go vehicles are now available to riders through the Uber platform in Dubai, with New Horizon Luxury Transport operating the fleet.
The expansion comes as Dubai’s population and mobility needs continue to grow.
More than 348 million riders used public transport, shared mobility and taxis during the first half of 2026, with average daily ridership reaching 1.9 million.
