Emergency preparedness and readiness levels have been stepped up in Dubai to deal with the adverse weather conditions.
Plans and procedures are in place to effectively manage any issues or incidents that may arise.
The authorities have advised people to avoid unnecessary outings, abide by safety instructions and avoid gathering in ways that impede emergency services.
Motorists have been advised to secure belongings and park vehicles in elevated, secure areas, in anticipation of hailstones.
The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast varying amounts of rain, lightning, thunder and occassional hailstorms on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday for most parts of the country.
