Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will launch four new public bus routes and revise several existing services from July 17.
The changes are aimed at improving connections between residential, commercial and key service areas, while making public transport more efficient and convenient.
The new routes are:
- Route 35: Connects International City with Dubai Silicon Oasis, with 30-minute headways during peak hours
- Route 85: Connects Al Quoz (Al Khail Gate) with Dubai Internet City Metro Station, with 20-minute headways during peak hours
- Route 37A: Operates between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake, with 30-minute headways during peak hours
- Route 37B: Operates between Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake and International City, with 30-minute headways during peak hours
The RTA will also adjust a number of existing bus and Metro Link routes to improve connections with the Dubai Metro and reduce journey times.
Passengers are advised to check the updated routes before travelling.
- Route 27 will be rerouted via Al Mustaqbal Street instead of Al Sukook Street, with Route 29 available as an alternative for passengers affected by the change.
- The changes also include Routes 36A and 36B, where sections of their routes between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis will be discontinued. Passengers heading to Academic City and Dubai Silicon Oasis may use the new Routes 37A and 37B.
- To further enhance integration with the Metro network, Route 67 will be rerouted to connect with Oud Metha Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba Bus Station. Passengers may use the Dubai Metro Green Line to reach Bur Dubai.
- Route 84 will also be modified to terminate at InsuranceMarket Bus Stop (South Side) instead of Mall of the Emirates. Passengers travelling between Dubai Marina and Al Quoz may use the new Route 85.
- Route 88 will undergo a similar change, terminating at ONPASSIVE Metro Bus Stop (North Side) instead of Umm Al Sheif Street. Passengers heading to Dubai Internet City may use Route 8.
- Routes 96 and X94 towards Al Quoz will be rerouted via Al Yalayis Street/Jebel Ali instead of Expo Road, improving journey efficiency and easing access to key destinations.
- For Metro Link routes, Route F06 will be extended to serve Nad Shamma, Route F29 will be modified to serve Umm Al Sheif instead of Umm Suqeim 3, Route F36 will be extended to serve Al Barsha South 2, and Route F47 will be modified to serve staff accommodation in Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
- Route F49 will no longer serve the Parco Hypermarket area when travelling from Danube Metro Station. Passengers may use several alternative routes, including Routes 56, 95A, F47 and F53, to reach the area.
- During evening peak hours, Route C01 will be rerouted between Flame Intersection 2 and Dnata 2, as part of measures to improve journey times and enhance operational efficiency.
- Route X22 towards Al Qusais Industrial Area will also be revised to bypass stops within Business Bay. The route will operate directly from Business Bay Metro Bus Stop (South Side 1) to Al Qusais Industrial Area 2 via Sheikh Zayed Road. Passengers in Business Bay may use the alternative Routes F14 and F41.
