The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has clarified that a "Dubai chocolate" product linked to salmonella outbreak in the US is not sold in the UAE market.
In a statement released on social media platform X, the ministry confirmed that “Dubai Chocolate” products available in UAE markets are free from Salmonella.
The clarification comes after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning over concerns of potential salmonella contamination from Emek “Pistachio Cacao Cream with Kadayif Spread”.
The UAE authority explained that the product - inspired by the "Dubai chocolate" flavours - is manufactured outside the UAE and is sold "exclusively... in the US markets".
MOCCAE, in collaboration with local regulatory authorities, reaffirms that the Emek “Pistachio Cacao Cream with Kadayif Spread”—linked to Salmonella contamination—is not present in UAE markets. The product is manufactured outside the UAE.
