Dubai Customs has stepped up preparations for the busy summer travel season, with around three million passengers expected to pass through Dubai airports in the first half of July alone.
Working closely with Dubai Airports and other partners, authorities have put an operational plan in place to keep passengers moving smoothly while maintaining high security standards.
Dubai Customs operates 19 advanced baggage screening systems and 77 inspection and detection systems across the airport terminals to speed up processing during the peak travel period.
The authority has also cut baggage screening times in manual inspection areas at arrival halls to just seven seconds, reducing waiting times while maintaining customs security.
Passengers are also being reminded of UAE customs rules. Gifts worth up to AED 3,000 can be brought into the country duty-free, provided they are for personal use, within the allowed quantity limits, and not intended for trade.
Meanwhile, Dubai Customs is developing dedicated pet inspection rooms at Terminals 1, 2 and 3. The new facilities are designed to speed up veterinary inspections and improve services for travellers flying with pets.
Khalid Ahmed, Director of the Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs, says preparations began well in advance, with continued investment in smart technology and frontline teams to ensure a fast, safe and seamless travel experience throughout the summer rush.
