Dubai recorded a 36.8 per cent fall in road traffic deaths per 100,000 residents in the final three months of 2025, compared with the same period a year earlier, according to figures released by Dubai Police.
The General Department of Traffic said the drop reflects the impact of safety measures and enforcement aimed at reducing serious crashes and protecting road users.
The data showed improvements across several categories of fatal incidents - pedestrian deaths fell by 50 per cent and collision-related deaths dropped by 44 per cent.
Police said the figures point to “tangible progress” in tackling high-risk behaviour and improving overall road safety.
The results were reviewed during a fourth-quarter performance meeting chaired by Maj Gen Hareb Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Sector Affairs.
Senior officers examined accident data, traffic violations and the performance of enforcement technologies, alongside traffic trends linked to population growth.
Maj Gen Al Shamsi said the progress was driven by a combination of smart systems monitoring driver behaviour, increased traffic patrols and inspection checkpoints, which he said helped improve discipline and reduce dangerous driving.
Police also stressed the importance of ongoing public awareness campaigns, particularly around risks linked to bicycles, motorcycles and electric scooters.
Dubai Police urged motorists to comply with traffic laws and warned that strict action would be taken against serious offences, saying enforcement is aimed at protecting lives and strengthening a culture of responsibility on the roads.
