Staff at Dubai's Latifa Hospital went beyond their call of duty to surprise a 76-year-old Filipino COVID-19 patient on her birthday.
Lydia Salinel was visiting her family in Dubai when she had a medical emergency.
She tested positive for COVID-19 when being prepped for surgery and was unable to celebrate her special day with her family due to quarantine rules.
In a video shared with ARN News Centre, an emotional Salinel is seen smiling as the hospital crew sang happy birthday and gifted her a bouquet of red roses and a box of chocolates.
Salinel, who used to live in Dubai, has now moved to Oman.
