Dubai Humanitarian has urgently dispatched 68.4 metric tonnes of critical medical supplies to Gaza via Al Arish, Egypt.
This comes following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
A Boeing 747 took off on Wednesday morning carrying life-saving relief provided by the World Health Organization (WHO). The supplies are expected to assist over 600,000 people in Gaza, addressing urgent medical needs amid the ongoing crisis.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Chairman of Dubai Humanitarian, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to aiding Gaza, highlighting the continuous airbridge that has been operational since the crisis began.
The UAE’s efforts aim to deliver swift and vital help to those most in need.
Dr. Richard Peeperkorn, WHO Representative in the occupied Palestinian territory, expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support, noting that the shipment includes essential supplies for malnutrition treatment, trauma care, surgery, and primary healthcare, alongside tents to expand hospital capacity in Gaza.
"The UAE-donated flight carrying $1 million worth of health supplies supported by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), exemplifies the power of collaboration in delivering timely aid during extremely challenging circumstances," he added.
