Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian has facilitated a second relief airlift to support the response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The operation was carried out in close coordination with the European Commission’s humanitarian arm, with the aid transported via Uganda.

A fully loaded Boeing 747 provided by Dubai Royal Air Wing delivered around 60 tonnes of critical medical and relief supplies, sourced from partners including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the UN Humanitarian Response Depot.

This is the second such airlift within a week, underscoring continued international efforts to contain the outbreak and support affected communities.

Dubai Humanitarian said the operation reflects strong cooperation with international partners and a shared commitment to faster and more effective emergency response.

European Union officials also welcomed the rapid mobilisation of aid, highlighting the importance of international coordination in containing the virus and saving lives.

The UAE says it remains committed to supporting global humanitarian efforts and responding quickly to urgent health crises around the world.
