Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) 104th open number plates auction on Saturday raised a total of AED 36.224 million.
It marked an 83 per cent increase when compared to the one held in 2019 that fetched AED19 million.
Special plate V12 was the top earner, fetching AED7 million.
It was followed by S20, which was sold for AED 4.06 million, while Y66 fetched AED 3.2 million.
About 90 number plates went under the hammer with two-, three-, four- and five-digit plates of categories (H-I-K-L-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z) part of the deal.
This was the first open auction for 2020 and was held under strict health and safety guidelines at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel.
