Dubai Police has urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and avoid illegal parking around mosques during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, has called on vehicle users to park only at designated spots around the mosque during Taraweeh and Qiyam Al-Layl prayers.
He highlighted the problem of roads being blocked in front of mosques due to haphazard parking by worshippers, especially if mosques are located in residential areas or close to main roads.
Al Mazrouei said traffic patrols will be increased during prayer times to catch those who double park and obstruct lanes, exits or pavements.
The top official also confirmed the department's commitment to optimising traffic flow, managing mosques' parking lots, facilitating the entry and exit of worshippers' vehicles, and assisting the public in reaching and leaving mosques.
He also urged residents to report traffic violations through the We Are All Police service by calling 901 or via Dubai Police smart app.
