Dubai Municipality is reporting major progress in food safety for the first half of 2025.
As many as 34,700 inspection visits were carried out across food establishments in the emirate, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety standards.
Officials also noted a boom in the food sector, with 2,336 new outlets opening since January.
Meanwhile, nearly 174,000 food shipments, totalling almost 5 million tons, passed through Dubai’s ports, reinforcing the city's role as a global food trade hub.
In addition, around 940,000 food items passed rigorous inspections, and over 77,000 new products were registered in the Municipality’s digital systems, highlighting the efficiency of its smart food safety tools.
Dr. Sultan Al Taher, Director of the Food Safety Department, says these achievements reflect Dubai’s commitment to building a sustainable food ecosystem that protects public health and boosts consumer confidence.
