Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is introducing co-working spaces at Burjuman metro station.

The project is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2024 on a trial basis, offering an easily accessible, affordable and inspiring workspace within the station itself.

It's being rolled out in partnership with The Co-Spaces, a business incubator certified by Dubai SME and provider of co-working solutions called WO-RK.

"Based on the success of the launch of the first co-working space in Burjuman Metro Station, RTA will look at expanding it to other favourable locations along the metro network," said Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Commercial and Investment at the RTA.

"Through this initiative, RTA seeks to achieve its strategic goals aligned with Dubai Urban Plan 2040 aiming to make Dubai the world’s best city for living," he added.

Situated within the Dubai Metro network, WO-RK offers seamless accessibility via the metro and other public transport modes, avoiding the necessity for car commuting and contributing to the last-mile transport solutions.

In addition to its physical workspace offerings, WO-RK will provide essential business support services, streamlining the process of obtaining mainland licences, Ejari and business addresses.

It will also facilitate the growth and development of businesses within its premises through educational and mentorship programmes.

"As we embark on this journey with the RTA, we look forward to shaping the future of workspaces together, offering a unique blend of convenience, flexibility, and community engagement," said Shahzad Bhatti, founder of The Co-Spaces.
