Emiratis working in UAE private sector exceeds 190,000 in 2026

The number of Emiratis working in the private sector in the United Arab Emirates has exceeded 190,000 across nearly 32,000 establishments in the first half of 2026, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).

The MoHRE have also reported that a total of 95 per cent of establishments covered by Emiratisation policies achieved their targets for the first half of this year.

The Ministry say that this rising milestone reflects the private sector’s growing commitment to attracting national talent and the continued joint efforts to empower Emirati professionals and enhance their participation across various economic sectors.

Emiratisation in the private sector is expected to achieve further milestones during the second half of 2026, as the set targets continue to be enforced, mandating companies employing 50 workers or more to achieve a 1 per cent growth in the number of Emiratis employed in skilled jobs.

Companies that comply with Emiratisation policies and achieve their targets receive a range of supportive benefits, such as being listed as members in the Emiratisation Partners Club, which includes financial discounts of up to 80% on fees for service provided by the MoHRE.

Members also receive priority status in the government procurement system, which enhances their business growth opportunities, advances their standing in the labour market, and affirms their role as partners in building a competitive economy.
