A fire that broke out in a restaurant near Dubai's Mall of the Emirates on Tuesday night has been brought under control.
In a statement posted on their official account on social media platform, Dubai Civil Defence confirmed the fire at Pearl View Restaurant and Cafeteria in Al Barsha 1 was caused by a gas leak.
The restaurant is located in a lower floor of a residential building.
Videos posted on social media showed the fire spreading to other parts of the building as firefighters arrived on the scene.
Several residents took to social media to report hearing a loud explosion before the flames became visible.
