H.H. Sheikh Mohammed leads funeral prayer for late Sheikh Ahmed

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and other royals attended the funeral prayer for the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Dubai's Grand Zabeel Mosque.

The funeral prayer was performed in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and a number of royals, senior officials and a large gathering of worshippers.

Later, the royals, along with a number of citizens, escorted the body of the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum from the Grand Zabeel Mosque to Umm Hurair Cemetery in Dubai, where he was laid to rest.

Condolences will be received at the Za'abeel Majlis over three days, until Thursday.

A 10-day official mourning has been announced across the emirate, with flags flown at half-mast.
