Investigation underway into fire at Sharjah school

An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire at a school in Sharjah. Around 600 students and staff were evacuated following the blaze on Tuesday morning, which reportedly erupted in the teachers’ lounge. Civil defence teams quickly brought the flames under control. No one was injured. The cause in not yet known, but authorities have urged schools to carry out periodic maintenance work.
