The Islamic New Year holiday for the public sector in the UAE will be on the first day of Muharram.
That's according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, which says the exact day will be officially determined following a moon sighting later this month.
A three-day weekend could be declared for the public and private sector to mark the holiday.
Earlier this year the UAE Cabinet announced that it was unifying the holiday calendar for public and private sectors.
