Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed his gratitude to the UAE for sending a relief package worth USD 100 million during a phone call with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday.
He praised the UAE’s fraternal stance towards Lebanon and its people in all circumstances.
The UAE sent 40 tonnes of medical supplies to Lebanon on Friday, in coordination with the World Health Organisation (WHO), as part of the relief campaign "The Emirates is with you, Lebanon."
His Highness the President reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the Lebanese people during these challenging times. He reiterated the UAE’s firm position on Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and stressed the need for international efforts to cease hostilities and ensure full protection for civilians in accordance with international law.
