Louvre Abu Dhabi has unveiled details for Art Here 2024, emphasising its role in promoting regional art.
This year's edition has attracted 230 submissions from across the UAE, GCC, North Africa, and beyond.
Five exceptional artists from the UAE, Tunisia and Egypt have been shortlisted. Their work will be showcased at Louvre Abu Dhabi from September 20 to December 15, 2024.
In collaboration with the Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille, this year’s theme "Awakenings" is set to challenge artists to explore the concept of openness through sculptures or audio-visual installations.
The idea of this theme is to reflect on new beginnings, possibilities, and the decisions that shape individual paths and futures.
The jury panel which includes His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and other notable figures has expanded this year to include members from North Africa bringing diverse perspectives from the art and cultural sectors.
Each shortlisted candidate will compete for a cash prize of just over AED 220,000.
We're thrilled to announce the 5 shortlisted artists for the fourth edition of the #LouvreAbuDhabiArtHere and @richardmille Art Prize!
