The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has announced its support for a measles vaccination programme led by UNICEF, targeting children in marginalised communities and conflict zones.
The contribution was announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where MBRGI's CEO Saeed Al Eter signed a Letter of Intent with UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.
Under the partnership, MBRGI will support UNICEF’s efforts to vaccinate one million children against measles.
Al Eter described the collaboration as a turning point in helping break cycles of disease and safeguarding the future of underprivileged children across multiple countries.
Russell said the additional support would help reach one million children affected by conflict with life-saving measles vaccinations, stressing that no child should die from a preventable disease.
The partnership will focus on routine immunisation for children who have not yet received vaccines, through a coordinated programme designed to support long-term health and development.
Since its launch in 2015, MBRGI has allocated more than AED 13.8 billion to humanitarian efforts, reaching 788 million people in 118 countries.
In 2024 alone, it spent over AED 2.2 billion across five key pillars, including healthcare, education, and humanitarian aid.
