Frontline workers and nurses in the UAE can now get a 50 per cent scholarship at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU).
This comes after the higher education institution announced that it will be supporting postgraduate students of all nationalities applying for its College of Nursing and Midwifery MSc programmes by granting them a scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year.
MBRU has also extended the application deadline for the College of Nursing and Midwifery MSc programmes: MSc in Cardiovascular Nursing and MSc in Pediatric Nursing to June 27 this year.
Last year saw a strong response from nursing professionals in the country, with more than 70 per cent of the first cohort of students being Emirati females.
The programmes can be completed over one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study.
Meanwhile, the clinical aspect of the courses offered will allow students to undertake 12 weeks of nursing practice in Northern Ireland, at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
According to MBRU, the initiative will allow nurses to widen their range of skills and competencies in different nursing specialties.
