Starting September 5, vaccinated travellers flying into the UAE capital from any part of the world will not need to quarantine.
In a series of Tweets, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee said the travel rule will be "extended to citizens, residents and visitors" who have been inoculated by a WHO-approved vaccine. They must also be aged 16 years and above.
Earlier, quarantine-free rule applied only to those fully vaccinated from the countries under the 'Green List'.
Under the latest travel protocol, all travellers, both vaccinated or otherwise, will need a negative PCR test result with a 48-hour validity before boarding their flights, and one on arrival.
For vaccinated passengers, PCR tests on days 4 and 8, if staying in the emirate, is mandatory. The tests will be restricted to day 6 if they are flying in from a 'Green List' destination.
Meanwhile, for unvaccinated travellers from countries not on the 'Green List', a 10-day quarantine and another test on day 9 is mandatory.
If flying in from a 'Green List' destination, they must take two more tests on days 6 and 9.

All travellers must verify their vaccination certificate via the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website or app.
They will be allowed access to public places in the capital that are open to the vaccinated, by showing their status via the Al Hosn app or the "official app of their country of residence".
They will be able to show their status by registering on Alhosn app or by using the official app of their country of residence to show vaccination and their phone to show test results.
