More than 3.2 million people visited mosques managed by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr, officials have said.
The centre reported a total of 3,226,103 guests across its sites nationwide, including worshippers, visitors and those attending iftar meals.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi recorded the highest number, with 1,695,698 million visitors. This included 510,046 worshippers and 980,010 iftar guests, the highest number ever recorded at the mosque.
In Al Ain, the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque welcomed more than 960,011 people, while the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah received 507,222 visitors. In Ras Al Khaimah, the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque recorded 63,172 worshippers.
Across all sites, the centre distributed 2,605,810 million iftar meals as part of its annual “Our Fasting Guests” initiative.
Officials said the programme forms part of wider efforts to support community engagement during Ramadan, with a range of religious, cultural and charitable activities taking place.
These included lectures, digital initiatives and community programmes, as well as events aimed at visitors from within the UAE and abroad.
The centre said the scale of attendance reflects the role of the mosques as key religious and cultural landmarks, particularly during Ramadan, when they host large numbers of worshippers and visitors.
