Paid public parking hours across Sharjah will be extended until midnight from July 1, 2026.
According to Sharjah Municipality, the new operating hours will apply to all paid parking spaces in Sharjah City, Kalba, Khorfakkan and Al Dhaid, including areas marked with yellow parking signs.
The change brings them in line with blue-sign parking zones, which already operate until 12 midnight.
Parking will remain free on Fridays and official holidays, except in locations where fees apply throughout the week and during public holidays.
The municipality says the decision comes in response to growing demand for parking services, driven by the emirate’s urban expansion, population growth and increasing tourism activity.
It added that the move follows detailed studies of parking usage, occupancy rates and customer feedback, as well as comparisons with best practices elsewhere.
Sharjah currently has around 124,000 paid public parking spaces, with charges applying from 8:00 AM until midnight.
Seasonal subscription fees will remain unchanged, while subscribers will benefit from an additional two hours of daily parking access, increasing their exemption period from 14 to 16 hours.
