In posts on its official social media handle, Colonel Youssef Obaid Al-Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence Authority thanked the men for stepping into action and stopping the spread of the fire.
In one incident at an industrial site in Sharjah, a resident used his personal crane to support the efforts of teams from Sharjah Civil Defence in containing a fire that broke out in a vehicle used to transport waste. The authority said his prompt intervention enabled the firefighters to control the blaze in record time without any injuries.
In another incident involving a waste transport vehicle, two citizens quickly removed the burning material and alerted the authorities.
