Private schools and nurseries located in Sharjah's eastern region will shift to remote learning on Sunday and Monday as a precautionary measure against tropical cyclone Shaheen.

The Sharjah Private Education Authority's (SPEA) latest decision applies to institutions in Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Deba Al-Hisn.

SPEA will continue to monitor the situation closely in coordination with relevant authorities.

'Shaheen' intensified into a 'category 1' tropical cyclone earlier today and is expected to have an impact on parts of the UAE and Oman.
