Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has held a series of phone calls with foreign ministers from several allied nations to discuss the latest regional developments.
The conversations come in the wake of recent Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, and focused on their wider security implications.
Sheikh Abdullah spoke with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as well as Tom Berendsen of the Netherlands, Roberto Velasco Álvarez of Mexico and Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan.
During the calls, Sheikh Abdullah thanked the ministers for their solidarity with the UAE, and confirmed that all residents and visitors in the country are safe.
Discussions also covered the recent announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
All sides stressed the importance of coordinated international efforts to support de-escalation and to strengthen regional and global security and stability.
