The speed limit on a section of Al Ittihad Road connecting Dubai and Sharjah will soon be slashed from 100 kph to 80 kph.
The revised limit, which comes into effect from November 20, applies to the stretch between the Sharjah-Dubai border and Al Garhoud Bridge.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said that it took the decision in coordination with Dubai Police following a study that reviewed the number of entrances/exits, proximity of intersections, recurrence of traffic accidents, as well as recent improvements and developments in the area.
Dubai’s #RTA and the Dubai Police General Headquarters decided to reduce the speed limit on Al Ittihad Road, between Sharjah and Al Garhoud Bridge, from 100 km/h to 80 km/h, effective November 20, 2023.
