Sharjah Police have arrested several individuals after a social media dispute escalated into a violent fight that left one person dead and another injured.
Authorities say the altercation between the Asian nationals began online before developing into a confrontation outside a shopping centre in Sharjah City.
During the incident, two people sustained stab wounds and were taken to hospital, where one later died from his injuries.
Investigators found that the disagreement on social media led to a face-to-face clash involving several individuals, during which a bladed weapon was used.
Sharjah Police launched an immediate investigation and arrested the suspects within four hours of receiving the report. Legal procedures have since been taken against them.
The force has urged the public to avoid responding to online disputes with violence and to resolve conflicts through legal channels.
Residents are also encouraged to report content that incites violence or disrupts public order by contacting police on 901.
