The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced early on Friday that air defence systems are responding to missile threats.
In a post shared on social media platform X, the authority has urged the public to remain in a safe location.
An alert was also shared to the public at 8:18 am, with authorities advising the public to steer away from windows, doors, and open areas.

A second alert was shared at 8:40 am, reassuring the community that the "situation is safe", noting that activities can be resumed while remaining cautious.
There was a second missile alert at 17:49pm, with NCEMA posting on X minutes later:

At 18:12pm, a second alert was shared to the public stating that the situation is currently safe and to resume normal activities while continuing to remain cautious and alert.
