Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has announced an urgent humanitarian response plan worth $10 million for communities affected by the earthquake in Colombia.
The assistance will be delivered through the UAE Aid Agency and will support emergency relief efforts in areas hit hardest by the disaster, which has caused deaths, injuries and widespread damage.
UAE teams are working with Colombian authorities and international partners to deliver essential medical supplies, food and shelter materials, based on needs on the ground.
Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the UAE is working to speed up the delivery of aid to help ease the suffering of those affected, support early recovery and help restore stability in the impacted areas.
The aid reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting countries and communities affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
The UAE has also expressed its solidarity with Colombia and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
