The UAE is stepping up efforts to help cancer sufferers in Yemen. The Emirates Red Crescent is providing specialist medical aid and treatment for cancer patients in the country, as well as restoring and providing equipment to medical centres specialising in cancer treatment. The efforts of the Emirates Red Crescent are particularly focused on bringing joy and hope to children suffering from the disease, with a special festival held for children in the cancer unit at Al Sadaqah hospital in Aden. This is all part of the UAE’s efforts to support the health sector in Yemen, which has been devastated by the ongoing conflict between Houthi rebels and legitimate government forces.
