The UAE has successfully mediated another exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, involving 370 captives from each side.
This brings the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries in these mediations to 7,471.
It's the 24th prisoner exchange that the UAE has mediated, highlighting the strong ties the country shares with Russia and Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict and easing its humanitarian impact.
"Among them are those returning after years in Russian captivity, where they had been held since 2022," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media platform X.
