The UAE has strongly condemned the recent attack on a World Food Programme convoy in Sudan's North Darfur region, calling it a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the two warring sides in Sudan’s ongoing conflict to uphold the Jeddah Declaration to ensure safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.
It also called for the protection of civilians and aid workers.
The Ministry stressed the need to shield the Sudanese people from the devastating impact of the war and reaffirmed the UAE’s call for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian access and greater support for efforts to bring lasting peace and stability to Sudan.
