The UAE has affirmed its full right to respond to Iranian attacks under international law to protect its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Deputy Permanent Representative Shahad Matar said Iran has targeted UAE civilians and infrastructure with ballistic missiles and drones since February 28, killing three and injuring 58.
Matar described the attacks as a blatant violation of sovereignty and international law, rejected the use of UAE territory for settling scores, and condemned aggression against Gulf and Arab states, affirming full solidarity with regional partners.
She called for restraint and dialogue, stressing that the attacks threaten not just the UAE, but international principles, noting the country’s diverse population of over 200 nationalities.
