Delivery riders will have access to more than 12,000 a/c rest areas across the UAE during the midday break this summer.
Making the announcement, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization said the rest areas will be open between 12:30 pm and 3pm from June 15 to September 15.
The ministry added that riders will also have the option to work or not during the midday break following "coordination with the company they work for".
It's part of efforts to promote a safe work environment for riders and to protect them during peak summer.
The rest areas will be mapped out and accessible via apps on devices used by the riders.
