UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held talks with the leader of Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, in Abu Dhabi as he begins a working visit to the country.
During the meeting, the leaders addressed the serious implications of Iranian attacks on regional and international security and stability.
Tshisekedi reiterated his condemnation of the attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region, noting that it constitutes a violation of sovereignty and international law.
He added that his country stands in solidarity with the UAE with regards to the measures it takes to defend itself and safeguard its security.
The leaders also discussed cooperation, particularly in the economic and development fields, and opportunities to advance ties in a manner that supports their development priorities and mutual interests and benefits their people under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
Upon landing in Abu Dhabi, Tshisekedi was welcomed at the airport by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State.
