UAE, Ecuador confirm arrest of Interpol-listed fugitive

UAE authorities have arrested an Ecuadorian national wanted by Interpol, following a request from Ecuador.

Roberto Carlos Alvarez Vera, who was listed on Interpol’s Red Notice, was taken into custody as part of ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

In a joint statement, the UAE and Ecuador said the arrest highlights their strong commitment to upholding the rule of law and working together to combat transnational crime, including international narcotics networks.

The two governments also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining effective communication channels to strengthen judicial cooperation and reinforce bilateral relations.
