His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, set out a wide-range of policies covering women's health, science and technological innovation during a UAE Cabinet meeting.
Writing on social media platform X, His Highness said the National Policy for Women’s Health will ensure that women enjoy the highest level of preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care services.
All governmental and private sectors will participate in supporting health research in order to develop the best environment that promotes women's health in the country, he added.
Sheikh Mohammed also said the Cabinet approved the Supreme Policy for Science, Technology and Innovation, a national policy that focuses on six main areas, including energy transition, health, food and water security, technology, cybersecurity, and industrialisation.
He said that investing in research programmes will add to the UAE's domestic product and increase opportunities for future generations.
The Cabinet also adopted an “enforcement and application of laws” indicator, to monitor the effects of laws on all groups, whether investors, citizens, residents, or specialists.
The goal is to measure the impact of laws, Sheikh Mohammed said, review them if necessary and apply them to everyone on an equal footing.
An online database was also launched, including all legislation, federal decrees, executive regulations, and federal executive decisions since the establishment of the state in 1971 until today, in both Arabic and English.
It is available online with the public invited to express their opinions about the legislation in force and also submit suggestions and observations about the legislation under preparation.
"Our goal is to consolidate governmental transparency, consolidate participation and interaction with segments of society, and ensure that our legal and legislative environment is among the best in the world," Sheikh Mohammed wrote.
